As a USA Soldier (current) USMC (prior) myself, my heart breaks for this leader of men. I concur
with a post already on the site...any brother of my brother is a brother of mine. SSGT Rogers has

Staff Sgt. Thomas E. Vitagliano (Vito as we called him) served with me in 2nd Recon Bn 2Nd Mar Div.
We became Recon Marines togethor and was in the same Tm for about three years. I became a civilian
for five years, and the day I was told what happend I joined the army the next morning... I miss you

" SSG Vitagliano and I served in 1/503rd Bco 3rd. Plt together way back in
'98. We were both team leaders and to the plt he was simply CPL "V". I was down range
one night and there had been an alert and he came looking for me. He brought me back to the hooch
and made me a better NCO for it!. RLTW
